Summers in Istria have traditionally been hot. Our predecessors did not have cooled cellars but had to find alternative ways for the preservation of wine. One method was maceration which enriched the wines with tannins – tannins are natural preservatives – that consequently protected the wine. We turned back to this old way of producing malvasia and enriched it with our specialist knowledge in order to bring in your glass the ultimate expression of our terroir. You find everything in this orange wine, from our soil, the sea, sun and the artist – winemaker – who wants to squeeze in your glass only the best and most energic grapes. This is why Malvasia Macerated is not made every year but only in the best vintages that give us healthy grapes rich of minerals, sun and taste.
